Long Term Care insurance is a relatively new form of insurance which provides financial support to help offset some of the costs for care, should an impairment restrict you from being able to take care of yourself. Typically this product will state that the insured must not be able to perform two or more “Activities of Daily Living”, or ADL. These include: being unable to bath, dress, feed, transfer (move), go to the bathroom or maintain continence without a significant amount of assistance. This insurance is fully medically underwritten.
